DIGIT
Precision at your fingertips.
What is DIGIT™?
DIGIT (patent pending) is a precision-fit finger splint designed to support and protect the DIP joint during healing. It’s ideal for mallet finger, stable distal phalanx fractures, collateral ligament sprains, and other soft-tissue injuries requiring controlled DIP extension.
DIGIT holds the fingertip in the exact posture needed for tendon healing—without the bulk, pressure points, or sizing guesswork of traditional splints.
Why DIGIT works.
Digitally designed.
3D printed.
Clinician trusted.
Anatomy-Driven Fit
Built on real-world finger anthropometry, independent width and height measurements that match how DIP joints actually vary. No guesswork. Just a splint that fits like a glove.
Stabilization that Stays Put
DIGIT holds the DIP in reliable extension with a low-profile geometry that avoids pressure points and slippage. The position is precise, predictable, and designed to protect the tendon throughout healing.
Better Than Legacy
Legacy mallet splints assume fingers are uniform cylinders. DIGIT doesn’t. With more width options, cleaner contours, and less bulk, it delivers stronger immobilization and better comfort, without foam or casting.
Clinic-Ready, Patient-Friendly
Shelf-ready, reimbursement-aligned, and instantly fit in seconds. DIGIT keeps workflows simple and keeps patients in continuous extension, the single most important factor for tendon healing.
Place, Align, Heal
Slide it on, confirm alignment, and let recovery begin where you are.
Why choose DIGIT?
Healing without the hassle.
Healing a fingertip injury shouldn’t require long waits, makeshift repairs, or constant adjustments. DIGIT delivers a stable, comfortable fit in clinic or urgent care, so the DIP stays straight, the tendon stays protected, and the healing stays on track. Less slipping. Less frustration. Better motion in the long run.
How DIGIT compares to legacy splinting:
| Feature | Traditional DIP Splint | DIGIT |
|---|---|---|
| Fit consistency | Variable | Precision anthropometric fit |
| Bulk & comfort | Bulky, pressure points | Low-profile, contoured |
| Application time | 10–20 mins | <30 sec |
| Re-fit frequency | High | Minimal |
| Patient compliance | Often removed due to discomfort | Comfortable wear promotes continuous healing |
| Cost to clinic | High (labor + refits) | Predictable |
Clinical Indications
mign’s DIGIT is indicated for DIP injuries requiring controlled extension to protect the terminal tendon and stabilize the distal phalanx:
Mallet finger (closed terminal extensor tendon injury)
Extensor tendon rupture or avulsion fracture
Post-operative extensor tendon repair
Chronic mallet deformity
DIP joint protection after trauma
How to fit DIGIT
Select the size
Use the mign sizing tool to choose the correct fit for the distal phalanx, secure, not constricting. Size using the same digit on the uninjured hand; if the injured side is swollen or the fit is tight, size up.Position the fingertip
Extend the DIP into neutral, uninterrupted extension. This position is essential for protecting the terminal tendon throughout healing.Slide it on
Guide DIGIT over the fingertip with the dorsal ridge aligned to maintain extension. The splint should seat cleanly without rotation or pressure at the nail or pad.Secure the strap
Tighten the strap for locked-in precision. The right fit stays on during activity but does not disrupt circulation. Check for blanching and size up if needed.
What to expect
DIGIT is lightweight, contoured, and made for continuous wear. Patients can go about daily activities with a stable, comfortable fit that keeps the DIP straight—without the bulk, slipping, or irritation common with traditional fingertip splints.
